Rocky Mtn Highlights from Cloud Nine Creative

Hey guys/gals,

I haven't posted any clips for a while but wanted to share a recent one that I'm really happy with. This was a wedding in Banff, Alberta which is a city in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. I knew pretty much as soon as I heard their personalized vows when they were saying them that I was going to use them as a basis for the trailer. For this wedding, there were a number of directions I could have gone with the story...I love it when that happens at a wedding and I'm really looking forward to their full edit.

Shot entirely with the 5DmkII and Olympus audio recorders. My EX1 and lav mic were damaged on the flight over from Toronto so we had to roll with it. We arrived at the hotel at around 3 am and had to start @ 9 - good times.

I hope you all enjoy the clip!

Very nice, "Classic of the Genre" as they say here in Europe!
thank you for sharing, Bruce!

It's great to see what a real pro can do with the 5D MKII. You took advantage of the camera's capabilities without overusing them. The result was a real pleasure to see.

Beautiful work Bruce,

I could probably figure it out if watched it a few more times, but was that shot with 2 5d2's?

Audio sounds really good btw.

Bruce Patterson December 4th, 2009 05:13 PM

Thanks for watching, Ken. Yes it was shot with 2 x 5D2s.

Excellent piece!!!

I have heard that song somewhere before. As I have allways believed, the right music can have a major influence on the edit and the response you get.

So, who did the music?

Travis Cossel December 7th, 2009 03:41 PM

Great stuff as usual, Bruce. Loved the pacing.

Bruce Patterson December 10th, 2009 09:02 PM

Thanks so much for watching Tom and Travis. The song is "To Build a Home" by The Cinematic Orchestra. I'm glad you liked the pacing, Travis - I wanted to slow things down a bit on our blog after all the fast-paced edits we did with our SDEs in the summer.
