We shot this wedding in the stunning Snake River canyon near Twin Falls, ID. With such a beautiful setting we knew we had to incorporate the scenery as another character. I think it came out pretty well, although 30mph winds make Steadicam shots pretty tricky. d;-)

Enjoy!

Hi Travis,

It is always great to watch your work..we really like your style and approach to filming weddings..although we are curious... how do you present the final product?

Thanks Ray!

Kren, I'm not sure what you mean by asking how we present the final product. Could you clarify?

Kren Barnes December 10th, 2009 10:13 AM

Hey Travis,

I meant the finished DVD that you provide to the client. Is it more like a 30 minute highlight of the whole day or more chronological/documentary format with all the speeches?

For us we divide it down to chapters like getting ready, ceremony, photoshoot, reception.
Outside of the ring exchange, vows and dinnner speeches , each one is a one song highlight edit format. Just curious what other people are doing. Thanks,

Travis Cossel December 10th, 2009 03:15 PM

Okay, I understand now. The couple's DVD will have a 20-minute cinematic short-form edit, this highlights video, and documentary edits of the major events (ceremony, first dance, toasts, etc.). We place the majority of our editing emphasis on the short-form edit, as this is what we expect the couple to watch the most.

Travis - great job! Do you use the same footage in the short-form and the highlights?

Travis Cossel December 10th, 2009 10:56 PM

Great question, Peter. We strive pretty hard these days to make sure that a lot of the shots in the highlights are shots you didn't see in the short-form. That said, there are still shots you'll see in both (B&G seeing each other for the first time, B&G walking out during the ceremony, etc.). But as an example, the shot you see of the bride getting out of the car is a different shot than we used for the short-form. So while some shots are the same, many are not. We want the highlights to feel like a completely separate experience.
