New Highlight Video
One of my recently finished highlight videos. Let me know what you like / dislike. Thanks for watching.
Main Camera >> Canon XH-A1 Details and Upstairs at Reception >> 5D Mark ii Stabilizer >> Steadicam Pilot |
I like the stabilizer work, like the color correction, I like that the sound track is different.
Only thing (its just my opinion) maybe a little too much up/down panning. On an unrelated note, I'm surprised that cake cutting is such an isolated event. I always thought everyone would want to see it when it happens, but every wedding that I've seen lately or been to its just a bride/groom thing... |
your camera work is really solid. but honestly, that song gives this video a
cheese factor. Let's just say it would have a longer shelf life had you chosen a different piece of music, and incorporated some audio in there to go along with such great shooting. |
Matt, the piece has great energy, and I think the song is a good choice.
In terms of story telling, you shouldn't be cutting between the ceremony and the reception decor, it doesn't seem to make sense. If you are looking for cutaways during the ceremony, they should be reaction shots of family/guests in the church. Or if you are looking to extend the ceremony segment of the video, keep the shots longer and include some of the vows. In general you should attempt to bring in audio from the event, even just clapping/cheering, to ground your video in the reality of what happened rather than how it was shot. The final shot with the rings is great, but stay away from fonts like Zapfino and drop shadows. They are sort of a wedding video throwback. Try sans-serif fonts. |
That was a solid video...however if you are using a fast song it's good to cut to the beat..We always use upbeat tempo songs in our highlights
