Liza + Basil - A Royal Wedding in Nigeria

Liza & Basil had a Royal Nigerian Wedding back on October 23rd, 2010 in Abuja, Nigeria.

Our team along with bridesmaid and groomsmen left Toronto on October 19th and traveled via Germany to Nigeria.

The wedding itself took place on 22nd (Nigerian Ceremony) and 23rd (Church Ceremony & Reception). The rest of the days were preparation for the wedding along with a Special Music Video we filmed (to be online soon).

This really was a royal wedding with Military Barricade leading us to the church and other events. Not to mention tons of photo and video press (some of which you will see in the shots)

I have to say our team loved the experience. We were provided great accommodations and had security with us at all times. We were also able to explore Nigeria (travel log video to be online soon).

From a technical stand point it was a little tough shoot but fun. We used 5D and 7D, Monopods, Cinevate Slider, and Canon 24-70mm, 70-200mm.

Despite extremely hot conditions, cameras heated up only once but other than that it was a smooth sailing.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to post questions and we will answer them.

Hi Jawad,

Thanks for sharing your clip. You really struggled with focusing on this job. 3 days before the wedding in the room scene was just to shallow and the focus is hunting. The Nigerian wedding part was good but not enough wide shots which is impossible to get at a Nigerian wedding. I learned that the hard way 2nd shooting for a friend of mine. The wedding prep was the same thing again. Too shallow and focus hunting. I didn't finish the film as it was irritating not seeing solid focusing. The client will hopefully love it, but I suggest shooting at a higher aperture or learning how to focus better. Thanks again for sharing and putting your work out there for people to view.
