not a typical Wedding question!
 

I know its not really a wedding question but hopefully you can advise my on the following. I’m shooting a wedding fashion show next week. It’s a two-camera shoot. My questions is where do you reckon is the best position for both cams? I was thinking one locked down at the end of the ramp/catwalk and then on roving around the sides? Or do you thing both should be on tripods? Any advise?? Thanks.

I have only done 1 show in NYC. I found conditions to be very tight and packed in. At the end of the runway where models turn around, videographers jockey for position along with photographers. You will find a pyramid style set up as in everybody is shooting over each other. I was lucky and got to the shoot early so i had a decent shot.\

I had the same approach as you, wanting to do a 2 camera shot with 1 person but the it was impossible and on the sides where i would use the "alise" there was none. I've seen some 2 camera shots, 1 person in the last row would just pan back and forth.

If i were to do it different, 1 camera wide on runway as models coming down, 2nd cmaera tight for the details and the pans of the models... Hope this helps.

i have shot many fashion shows. You won't be able to move down the side so stick camera two right down the other end where they come out, hand held, nice wide angle. Keep the front camera on sticks do nice pan up and down and some wides.
