Magic Bullet
 

Do many of you guys use this for grading your weddings? Im using FCP but the built in filters dont seem to give me that WOW factor. Is there anything else out there?

Magic Bullet is great for its many preset looks, and the ability to tweak and make your own presets, but the render times are horrendous. So long, that you thing there must be something wrong.

I would consider it if you have a very fast computer, and a video card that Bullet can take advantage of. Apparently it can use the GPU of the video card to speed render times, but I haven't been able to test the difference myself.

Like Vito said, it can be useful if you can afford the render hit. I used to use it a couple years back, but I get faster render times and more control out of the regular image controls in Vegas. It's amazing how much of a difference you can achieve by using some level adjustments and color correction.

There's also vignettes, video effects, lots of really great transitions.
Standards conversion NTSC <> PAL which I use a lot, It's much faster than compressor.

Check the 'big box of tricks' on the website for a huge list of included good stuff

He mysteriously moved to Canada, but kept providing regular updates.

And then it turns out he's on the Red camera team (red.com) making his own codecs, software, camera interface apps and loads of other stuff. And still he finds the time to update the FCP plugins.

Always thought he was a genius, that just proves it.
