For people that use the xh a1...

what video light do you use?

I need a light primarily for the reception.

Thank you.

Which light

Dedolight Dloba. Costs an arm and a leg IMHO, and you can't rotate the french flags like you ought to be able to, but it is both focusable and dimmable, and comes with diffuser and dichroic filter. The soft start feature is nice too...

I've heard good things about Frezzi lights as well (Frezzi.com).

(Probably a little off-topic for this section... Have you thought about moving this to the lighting forum instead?)

I use a frezzi mini-fill w/ dimmer, and an NRG Varalux w/ dimmer. I use a 50 watt lamp in the Frezzi w/ the frezzi softbox. The NRG has a 10 watt lamp and no diffusion. both work well with my Canon XH-A1, and for the record, they work equally well with my sony FX1's.

I'm using a Bescor.

Any light will do. 35w is perfectly sufficient for most environments.

The A1 also responds better with 3200k globes. The A1's WB is the finest on the market, so even if you can't find 3200k any 12v will do (if you must) and you can tweak the WB later.

Be aware of skin tones in shadowed areas, as the Canon has the tendency to burn.
