Second camera?
 

For your second camera do you use the same as your primary?
I have the XH A1 for my primary and HV20 for my secondary but the colors dont seem to be close. Is this something I can learn in post using color corection in Premier or would you recomend I sell the HV20 and get another XH A1?

Although not impossible to get unified color matching between different cameras, using the same camera at the same settings should yeild the same results. If you want to make sure, get matching cameras. This will also help speed things up in your post and rendering processes because you don't have as much color correction.

Do you have an operator on the HV20? If not, I'd be interested in how you (or other users) use a second cam (specidfically in weddings) i.e. placement etc.

We just booked another wedding that went with our largest package which includes video coverage, so I did order a second Xh A1. Every wedding we have booked this year has went with the large packages that include video so feel its worth the investment to save post processing time. Also having identical cameras makes learning the camera much easier.

Also, having the second cam be the same as the primary means you have a backup of he audio section of the cam too.

for me i use the hv20 with the xha1 with great success.

I place the hv20 on a light tripod beside me on the inside.

I point it out accross me onto the B&G for the full mass. only reframing
when they sit, kneel and stand. It works great.
I dont find color correcting too much of an issue as I NEVER
mix or cut from one cam to the other on the same subject,
thats a dead giveaway.

If its an important part where i feel the A1 should be on the b&g the HV20 will be either out very wide or on an entirely different subject.

1 operator on 2 cams is very do-able this way. Im getting better at it these days.
I find myself thinking in terms of the edit a lot more while shooting.
