So nice !

Very stylish and creative. And incredible that it's a same day edit...

Terry Esslinger January 20th, 2008 05:58 PM

Yes, Very nice. I have some general comments and then some specific ones.
You guys (Girls) that do SDEs, what is your workflow? In this case obviously the beach, car, etc were set up before and then the wedding scenes were placed after the fact. Was this a SDE that was shown at a reception? If so how much time did you have between the ceremony and 'show time' to get it done. Did you record to tape and then capture or did you use a hard media capture (Firestore, etc) How did you get the cake cutting in there. Didn't that occur at the reception?

Your arms must be guns - all that stabilizer footage!
Thanks for any information you can impart.

Very well done. I see a lot of Patrick from still motion's influence in these shots. Looked very similar to what they shoot.

Matt Duke January 21st, 2008 02:14 AM

Excellent job. It was amazing to watch.

Raphael Jamil Pranga January 21st, 2008 03:25 AM

Winfried, Thank you! :D

Terry, We usually include scenes from their prenup since in this part of our country, weddings are a blur unlike the usual flow in Manila where it's usually 12-14 hours. Here it's like 10-11 hours on most of the weddings that we covered. But there are times that the client doesn't get our prenup add-on so we just have to make use with on the day wedding scenes. We had two hours specifically for this one and some of the scenes were edited during the ceremony and the prenup was edited during the preps. We record to tape and then capture. The cake cutting happened about 1 hour before show time so we just selected scenes to capture.

For the glide footages, we usually take turns ^_^

Jason, yep, we really like Patrick's work and it's kinda refreshing actually Cheers! :p

Matt, thank you! :D

That is fantastic! Very well put together.

If that's a same day edit then I'd love to see something that had more time put into it! I'm not sure I could handle it though ;)

Excellent stuff! Very moving and very inspirational.

work like this (and from Patrick obviously) is so inspiring!

Andy Wilkinson January 22nd, 2008 06:49 AM

Just one word. STUNNING!

Raphael Jamil Pranga January 22nd, 2008 06:38 PM

Matthew, Richard, Andy, Thank you so much!

We've also been receiving good feedback about the clip from potential clients too!

I guess 2008 is looking pretty good. ^_^

All I can say is WOW! And an SDE to boot. That's not a wedding. That' a music video. Top marks all around, but I especially like how you fly the camera. The couple should be more than pleased.

Don't tell anyone but it made this thrice divorced old cynic cry.

Raphael Jamil Pranga January 29th, 2008 04:51 PM

Tripp, You cried?! Wow! Thank you so much!

Jason Bowers January 30th, 2008 09:53 AM

Raphael, What cameras were you using to shoot with and at what shutter speed 24f 60i 50i. If using the A1 what preset if any did you use?

Thanks

Raphael Jamil Pranga January 30th, 2008 10:12 AM

Hi Jason!

We use two sony Fx1s and we shoot in SD. Hmmm, for the shutter speed, we really play a lot with it from 30 to as high as 500 depending on the lighting conditions. Since we're using FX1s, I find it easier to adjust the shutter speed compared to adjusting the iris. But sometimes it depends ^_^.

For the first scene in this SDE, the shutter speed is waaaaay up to get the effect.

Jason Bowers January 30th, 2008 03:00 PM

Does the FX1 shoot in 24f or 30p? Are you shooting in 60i then? Or is the movie element captured all in post?
