After Effects development?

I've decided to trade in my PD-170s for a shift over to After Effects development. I've been experimenting with AE in my wedding videos and I'd like to concentrate on photo montage type projects. I also have to admit that I've been inspired by the work that David Robin and his team have done.

I've been putting an AE demo together for months. This work has been extremely labor intensive but a great learning experience. To be more specific, my demo will play over a 3 minute song and each photo has been layered with PS and animated in 3D.

My question here is about how to price services. For you folks who are producing AE projects, do you charge by the hour, picture, or some other factor?

I'd also be glad to hear any other insights you might have.
