Celebrity Weddings

I saw a clip of celebrity wedding on TV the other week. I noticed the bride & groom surrounded by videographer and photographers, so much so I doubt any of the guests could see the couple.

Anyone done a celebrity wedding?

P.S, please check out my Highlights clip and critique, there's a recent thread for it, thanks

Depends who to consider a celebrity,
I've shot several weddings of prominent Russian people, what is your question?

Hi Oleg, thanks for your reply, not so much of a specific question more as of a general query as to whether celebrities use 'the likes of us' to film their weddings or whether they have other avenues available through their industry contacts.

a few years ago I did a top radio DJs wedding-it was pretty cool-the wedding that is not the fact he was a 'celebrity'-I've done some other work for a few B list celebs in the area over the years-no big deal-they put their pant's on the same way I do, one leg at a time. It's just they usually wear more expensive pants.

Actually the ones I've worked with have been really nice and easy to work with.

Depends of what they want, I had talked through an agency, where a celebrity attitude was, let paparazzi know about the event, "we get photographed and videoed for free" why should we pay? We let you do a video for free for your promo".
Another attitude may be, yes you get hired but not a single shot can be used as a promo.

I'd imagine its the type of thing you have to get 'in the door' with and once you were in, in you'd stay.
You need to charge to the roof to let them know you are serious.

Celebrity weddings are a completely different world. For the most part (A-list celebs) you should treat is as a regular full blown shoot (e.g. music video, live TV show etc.). You've got to realize that half of the guests are the best in the business (directors, cinematographers, camera operators, etc.). You better have your AAA game on!
If you've never done one I suggest you assist on a few before going after the big bucks. Hire a professional "Handler/assistant" who's worked with celebs before.
Be sure to put your armor on and prepare for a lot of drama! if you can pull it off, it's well worth it.
