HV20 users, I need your help
 

I'm assisting on a wedding tomorrow and I will be using an HV20. The ceremony is outdoors and the reception is indoors and fairly well lit. I have very limited experience with this camera and I am hoping some of you can share your settings with me. I've been reading about it and it seems everyone like Cine mode. Not sure about the white balance settings, manual looks like it sucks the color out of the shot. If any of you could help out, I would appreciate it. I'm just looking for some settings you guys use on a daily basis.

I've used Cine mode, color balance you can do manually, or work with the preset!
Use a monopod, if you can, the camera is small, tend to shake more than bigger cameras.

The point of Cine mode is to shoot flat, and allow better post production latitude. I love it. If that is what is needed bof the shoot, go for it.

The camera works well with the manual white balance set up, but I also like using one of the presets for consistency. Two of them are for flourescent lights.

Chris, one thing i can suggest is that you shoot with the exposure set on manual.

Make sure that your setting is on P (little switch found on the right side of the camera) so you will have total control over your exposure and so you don't get a lighting variance during your shots.

When you say "assisting", are you running second cam/b-roll or are you the only operator? If you're going to be mixing your work in with another cam, you'd probably want to try to match that as closely as possible to ease the edit.

Otherwise, pick a WB preset to match the shooting situation (again easier to edit than if trying to deal with "automatic" adjustments), stabilize the cam as much as possible, and the rest is a matter of taste really.

I'm shooting mostly B-Roll stuff. I wasn't sure if you guys had any "magic" settings that made a HV20 look awesome. I'll play with the settings and see what I can come up with.
