I liked it. You got a lot of really nice shots. I didn't care for the quick cuts. I don't think the song lent itself to the really fast cuts. Also, you got a ton of shots of the car and that got kind of tiring after a bit. You did a good job in post with the video FX.

I'm sure your clients will be happy.

I liked the quick cuts myself, and they seemed on cue with the music and worked well. What I wasn't a big fan of was the "light rays" effect you used. It was terrible, but it just struck me as over-produced (mostly in the first shoe with the shoes). I can't comment much further because I just got home from driving several hours from a VERY LONG out of town wedding, and I'm sure my judgement is off. Thanks for sharing.

I thought you had really good shots and have to agree with Travis, the light ray effects actually took away from some of the great shots you had. I use the light ray very sparingly (usually as a wipe). Also maybe tone down on the diffusion at the end, it was too strong. But the edit works well with the song.

What camera do you shoot on (looked DVXish to me)?

Sorry, but I think the clip is way overedited and this just got in the way of viewing most of the shots. If you were trying for an FX demo that's one thing but the clip really doesn't convey anything else.

John I think you did a great job at filming and capturing the couple and the moments. Some suggestions to add to what has been said would include sit on your shots longer. Your cinematography is great...don't try to do too much more in post or you'll bury it amongst the edits and effects. A wise mentor told me that just because you can do it (effects and such) doesn't mean it works. You have a great eye...trust it in post and let the cinema in your style come out. Can't wait to see more! =)

i've always enjoyed your fast-pace editing as it's so different to most companies over here

BUT and i'm really sorry:
- what is going on with your light-rays???!! they seem inapporpriately and over used
- same too with white diffusion, colour-gradients, and dutch-tilts

i think these things have to be used very very sparingly and when it might seem 'right' (i.e. through a window into a dark room, through the trees from the sun) otherwise it looks like you've just used them for the hell of it

overall the content, and confidence in pace are really nice like previous clips i've seen from you, nice one!

Thx for your comments, one does get carried away from time to time,lol, slap on wrist,ha.

BTW, I don't personally find the Dutch tilts a problem,although agree it's not to everyones taste, like all things in life! have seen it used many times by other companies, I like this particular style and also the way I have used them here......
