Ian,

really love your clips, past and present....such a style i love - really creatively utilising your dof adaptor... i don't even know how to describe your style but keep it up!

p.s. funnily enough, i also got that song a while ago for the same purpose of a highlights (or in your case, teaser) clip, great song

What is the song? (Great trailer, BTW, Ian!)

I liked it. It was a bit strange and fresh all at the same time. Was this something you wanted to do or something that they requested?

How do you convince someone to stop smiling or posing. One of my pet peeves is that when I'm filming a couple they will get their heads togeather and smile and freeze. How do you direct them differently?

Bill Thesken July 22nd, 2008 04:28 PM

Very nice, great variety of shots.

Wow, you made this video at my home town~~~so nice

I never shot wedding Video at HK but I knew the location would be awesome. From the video I can tell the location is around Central, Admiralty and Wan Chai. I suggest you to check out "Cyber Port" next time, a great trendy location Wedding video!

Nice Job

I'm a big fan of your style. One day I'm going to put down my stedicam and use my adapter more.

I don't know what the music is, but I've heard it before somewhere else.

Matthew Ebenezer July 22nd, 2008 09:03 PM

Love it! Big fan of your work Ian - thanks for sharing this clip.

Thanks guys! Sorry for the late reply, been busy preparing for a wedding exhibition we're participating this weekend=D

Martin & Ethan, the song is Aviva Pastoral by Nathan Larson. We got the song idea from JMag

Mary, yes this is something that we wanted the bride and the groom to be (actually most of them requested fun style). But somehow they trusted us to direct them... hehe.. Err, frankly it's my wife that creates most of the concept, including the costumes etc etc.

SCL, yep, we requested the couple to shoot in HK. We shot around Central and SoHo. Thanks for the 'cyber port' tips =D

Richard, I dont know what's our style neither... maybe we should name it something =D

It's nice! Music worked well,
pov, arthouse style of camera moves works great, especially in downtown of a big city,
one shot oo.11 I thought was uncommon for an arthouse style, after that, I expected some development... it returned to same nice feel storytelling!

Ian Lim July 28th, 2008 12:51 PM

Thanks again guys!

Fiel, we will! =D
