Super8 from 29.97fps to 24fps

I've got a question for those of you who have shot Super8 for a wedding. I shot roughly 30 mins of Super8 that has been processed and converted to 10 bit uncompressed SD footage. The original frame rate is 18 fps but it was converted in the lab at 30 fps. Right now I have After Effects rendering a frame rate conversion back to 24fps but the render time is like 30 hours. Is there a faster yet high quality way to do this? I know that I should have had them convert at 24fps at the lab but it's too late now. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This is going into a 24p timeline?

That's what I was thinking. Then again I am up for suggestions. This Super8 footage will be the only footage used to edit this highlight video.

If the super 8 footage is all you are using, why convert it? I don't understand. You have footage already transferred to tape, just capture and cut.

Unless I'm missing your intent?

Richard,

Thanks for your response. It was sent from the lab on a hard drive at 30fps and thus the video was at a faster speed than originally shot.

I figured it out. I just interpreted the footage to 24 fps in AE. Seems to be working fine now. I was making it more difficult than it was.
