tuxedo?

I have a big event coming up next weekend.
It is in a very rich area in Miami and very rich people are going to be there.
It's a big opportunity for me to get in to the big market.
My question is should I wear a tuxedo or not?
Any input would be appreciated!

Thank You

The saying that it is best to overdress still holds true. The best answer is to talk to who ever is setting everything up and they should be able to give you an idea about the dress code. If you cannot I would think it is better to be over dressed than under dressed.

IMHO I still just cannot picture someone shooting in a tuxedo.
I was just looking at pictures of the Academy Awards, (pretty rich people, pretty formal event) and all the cameramen that I could see, were just wearing black suits.

I just always wear a nice black suit. You really can't go wrong. I think a tuxedo would be a little much.

Thank you for all of your replies.

It sounds to me that a black suit would do just fine but I have talked to my second videographer that has been doing this for way longer than I do and advised that wearing a jacket would be very hard to operate the monopod creatively which means eye birds etc...

the last wedding I wore a tux to was my younger sons over 6 years ago and I haven't worn a suit for longer than that. (at least not to a wedding) I wear show blacks. A pair of black dress pants, black shirt with a black silk T shirt so at the reception I can lose the dress shirt. I'm working and I've never had a bride or groom say anything EVER to me. I've done weddings that were 10K and wedding that were 200K and I always dress the same. If it's cold outside I wear a black turtleneck but even that may go at the reception. But that's just me. ;-)

If I where you, I would get something like what Tom Hanks wore in the movie "Big". I mean, if it where me.
