Haven't used Sony in ages and never for the TY. I'm locked on the Verbatim hub printables. No coasters and no unhappy customers... yet. Memorex seems to be OK but I only use those internally.

never used Sony. I used to use Verbatims and was quite happy but switched to TY watershields when they first came out and haven't looked back. No coasters no problems and they look great.

Sorry to hear that you were in the .000001% of people to have trouble with Taiyo Yuden (I actually made up the percentage, but you get the point)
Really, they are the best. I won't use anything other than the TY watershields, they cost more but worth every penny

I use TY watershield exclusively, why look at anything else. Never had a problem.

My last 100 lot of T-Y NON-WS discs had a failure rate of 13% (media failure identified by the computer PRIOR to burning) but prior to that "bad" spindle, nothing but 100%.
