Sand Bags for camera support
Hey Guys
Who makes the original sand bags am having difficulty resting the camera in unstable areas and i am hoping it will help Rob |
I've used a foam filled bag (mini bean bag) about the size of a foot stool. I make my own sand bags with ..sand in a glad sandwich bag inside a heavy cloth bag.
I'm sure I've seen the commercial camera support at Lemac in Sydney - can't remember the brand - cine..something |
I keep a 5# bag of rice in the car boot along with one of those reusable grocery store shopping bags. Came in very handy during a very windy shoot and kept an unmanned cam on a short tripod from going a** over teakettle.
And if I get stuck on the road during a blizzard, I won't starve to death. Just another page out of my "cheap and cheerful" playbook. |
I really need something that looks pro i don't really want to be carrying a bag of rice around
I have seen a video demo online but just cant remember who made the dam thing |

Get your girlfriend to run you up a black velvet (or whatever you think looks classy) and fill it with dried beans - what worked 100 years ago can't be all bad.
Ours (nasty brown and white check but I guess we're not classy!) has got us out of more scrapes than I've had hot dinners. |
There are some by manfrotto that have a zipper. You can throw it in your bag and if you need it you just pik up some rocks or a couple bottles of water and put them in there. Great for traveling as a 20Lb bag will put you over weight every time.
