Any body using Aiptek hidden HD cameras?

I have been looking at these for bush, isle or alter cams. I have read that if there is good light and it is fix mounted the footage looks OK.

AIPTEK USA

Look pretty similar to the Sanyo HD2000 (?) - the Sanyo reviewed pretty well at CCI, hard to beat for the price for a "extra angle" cam I'd imagine.

The quality of these "consumer cams" really puts the pressure on for professional quality in camera operation/editing/creative packaging.

The cameras are getting good enough even Uncle Bob might not be able to screw things up too badly!

I can't speak for the Aiptek's HD camera, but their SD camcorder was terrible, even unusable. I wasn't expecting much for $99, but I at least wanted something that I could throw in my pocket at work and at least took useable, if low quality video. I'm not saying this from an "its not good enough for me" standpoint, I mean it was so grainy, fuzzy, and "jello" like, even my kids skateboarding in the driveway were unrecognizeable. My kids won't even use it because the footage is so bad. It took terrible still pics also, never in focus. It appears that their HD cameras may be different or they have advanced in their technology in the 2 years since I bought the one I have as I have seen some OK footage on Vimeo, but I wouldn't buy one until you look through quite a bit and make sure that it meets your needs.

The Sanyo that Dave mentioned looks to be a great little camcorder. According to reviews it beats every other consumer camcorder in low light sensitivity and they say the video quality is very good. I believe it lists for $600. Either way I believe it to be a better buy than the Aiptek.

Lol..you may not be far off. But as long as they put a zoom within his reach, he will screw it up
