which filter do you use for color grading?

I know this is somewhat part of my last thread "color grading help"

I'm just curious which filter most people do there color correction with. Levels, RGB balance, Color corrector... I know that it's all about experimenting and i've bought a book to learn (it's not here yet). I just dont want to be steering down the wrong path.

Right now I'm playing around with RGB balance and using the de-saturate filter... is this a good start?

Steve

Ohh yeah, the only program I have is Final Cut Express....

I use the 3-way color corrector for the majority of my grading; not sure if FCE has that filter or not. I also sometimes use various filters from Nattress.

travis, thanks for getting back to me... The color corrector is a little different then pro.
Which Natress filters are you using? I have film effects and like some of the presets in that. I like the colors in your videos by the way... Thanks for the reply.

Another option is Red Giant stuff

They are pricy but worth it

Actually it is a combination of those, color correction and bunch of other by default filters

Check out the latest one I posted. It's very heavy with color correction and filters.
