This is how I handle the fast dancing throughout the evening...

...I condense it into one short peice. I didn't add any fancy effects or artistic color correction- just clean fast paced editing fun. Enjoy....

not found bro... :(

lol...had it up for over a week...no replies, took it down to make room for new material and THEN someone replies. Go figure. :)

I saw it and thought it was great. That is exactly what I did for my last wedding gig for all of the fast party dancing. Mine wasn't cut near as quickly as yours, so you've inspired me!

Glen Elliott September 9th, 2004 03:43 PM

Thank you Bob- yeah I've been trying to experiment with different editing techniques. This particular song felt like it needed fast cuts. In all I've been trying to tighten up my pacing....I feel pacing is of great importance in videography. During a standard montage sequence or highlight vignette (not a dance piece) my shots rarely run over 3-4 seconds in length each. Having pacing like this doesn't mean it has to be quick...they are usually strung together with slow dissolves... but it's important to keep stimulating your viewer with new images. I don't like holding shots longer than they have to be. A rookie mistake I always used to make....I look at my old works and cringe when I see how long I used to hold my shots.

Any chance of seeing it again? I missed the post!

Rafal Krolik September 13th, 2004 12:02 PM

I'm with Chris. Would you mind reposting it?

Jonathan Gentry September 13th, 2004 12:18 PM

If someone has some webspace to spare maybe they can upload it for me. I'm working with a measily 20mgs from Comcast and I don't have any more until I actually get my site up and running.

Show your stuff.

My regular day job... I own a small web hosting firm.

I just registered a new domain, and will be setting up a site for people just like you. I will donate server space and bandwidth to anyone wishing to showcase their works. Initially, both space and bandwidth will be limited and first come first served, prefered DVinfo.net members, until I can establish the demands. I am only opening the doors with 2GB of transfer, so I cannot guarantee how long your work can be available to stream, but I will look to grow in the near future.

All servers are unix based, and do not support Windows FTP very well, so you will need an FTP client such as CuteFTP or SmartFTP to be able to upload your works, until I can work out the kinks and perhaps design a web based upload option.

Email me to request access to the server.

Glen Elliott September 13th, 2004 05:27 PM

Yes I use CuteFTP 6.0- shooting you an email now...

Chris Thomas September 21st, 2004 02:32 PM

Post yet?

Glen Elliott September 21st, 2004 02:53 PM

Doh! no...I'm so sorry...I've been so busy. I have like 4-5 clips I can upload. Shoot me another email to remind me. I'm off to the GPVA meeting now (Greater Philadelphia Videographer's Association). Be back late tonight, but wont be able to upload anything to as early as tomorrow evening.
