Does anyone know of any cheap!! wireless 2-way transmitters that will allow me to talk to my secondary camera man? Kinda like the secret service use. Any thoughts would be great.

Something like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=52509&item=7146130308&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW You can go to Best Buy and get a 2-way radio that has a headset or auxiliary in at a reasonable cost. |
We just use standard FRC radios (Family Radios) from Radio Shack. We added a headset and PTT buttons. Has met all of our needs.

What is a PTT button? Thanks for the replies

PPT = Push To Talk

I use a sprint to sprint calling plan and those little headset do-hickies
I mean, if you have a cell phone already and know someone with the same provieder, its about as cheap as it gets. |

I need a headset for the FRC radios that will stay on my head, with a PTT button that won't shatter after a few uses! And yes, if something was going to break, it would always do so while in my care. I've looked at some of the traditional headset/boom mic designs available for cell phones, but wonder if they will work with FRC radios. The plugs all appear to 3.5mm, have the same number of conductors, but no sales person can tell me if they are wired as a PTT FRC headset would be wired (Radio Shack, once a bastion for helpful geeks now hires idiots). Bottom line is I am too cheap to buy a cheap headset and take it apart to see if it is correctly wired (there is some wisdom in this). Has anyone either not so cheap or more knowledgable than me already been down this road? |
