Hey guys - Canon just called to say the lens was ready for pickup - a 24 hour turnaround :)

They quoted a 7-10 day turnaround but I guess things must be slow at the service center... The whole process was simple and satisfactory.

Raymond.. I suffered similar damage to my Canon 17-40 .. ended up in two pieces with the internal ribbons.. costed $170 to repair including Canon shipping it back to me in 2 days.. They also cleaned and calibrated the AF so lens came back sharper than it was before the damage.
