Scenalyzer Multitrack capture software

I currently use Adobe Premiere Pro to do my editing. I've hated the extra time it takes to make two pases of capturing to get all 4 audio tracks off of my Canon XL1S. After doing some research here reading forums, I've come across a software application called "Scenalyzer". I downloaded the trial and have been testing it. It captures all audio tracks and video with just one pass.

My question is, does anyone else use it professionally to capture their footage to computer and does it degrade audio or video quality at all?

Thanks in advance,

Eric Holloway

I use it all the time and no, there is no degradation in quality in using it. Its a teriffic application that works really well no matter what NLE you're using.

To expand on this: A Firewire transfer is a digital bit for bit transfer from tape to your HDD. Nothing is 'done' to the data but for the adding of some file headers to help your computer figure it all out later. No codec is used, no compression is applied or removed ... the bits is moved, end of story.

And Scenalyzer Live remains the best $40 I've spent in twenty years of production. A solid performer that can do even more than the obvious transfer -- a great program.

Thanks for your comments. I guess I better buy it before they raise the price. I've been testing it for the past couple days and it seems pretty solid.

Thanks again.
