Non-conventional Wedding Video Sample

Hello all,

Just finished a wedding video for a couple that wanted some things to be done a little different. Didn't want the mushy, slo-motion stuff.

Below is a clip for some of the photoshoot:

Beware, it is a HUGE download. Cable and DSL only.

let me know your ideas.

Thanks.

Did they provide the song? I don't know if you noticed or not it says God D*** in it. If they like it thats great. I personally don't, in 10 years they won't watch it much less there kids in 30. I did not understand why you put shot in there where you focused in on the phographers er..uh lower part, and you also left in a shot where you swung down to the grass and then faded out. I was not sure if should say something or not considering my position but I hope when I put something up I would get honest to goodness criticism. All in all though my $.02 does not matter, if they liked it and it is what they wanted thats what counts.

If that were the whole video, it would be a different story, but that is really just 2 minutes of a video thats over an hour long. They wanted different, and provided some ideas that got that started.

Actually, some of the discussions with them lead me to believe the rest of the video might not be "alternative" enough, because I didnt want to totally push it. For the recap and such, I really sorta stuck to a more formal approach, but stayed away from "enya" music and real slo-mo soft focus stuff.

The point of the post was that it was "un-conventional", so its not like I'm saying "come see my wedding videos, here is my typical work."

I like it, Art. It feels fresh and stands out from run-of-the-mill wedding treacle. Good, basic montage approach to putting me in the scene--esp. by the water.

I really liked the flash cut to the groom (?) hugging the older guy in the church. Maybe his, or the bride's, dad? Or the officiant?

Since this is an excerpt I can't critique your overall structure ... nice work.

hello art,

i like it. may be a little bit to much camera movment. is almost like the movie
the bourne supremecy, nobody can capture the actual scene, before you "see" it's gone ....
but again, i like it

greetings

Interesting

It waa interesting to watch. I didn't get the several cuts to the boat and water. That made no sense to me. You set an expectation of involving watercraft and then didn't deliver.

I like it!

Gives a good sense of who the B&G actually are (personalities, interests) rather than them being generic wedding participants.
