Website opinions needed
 

Hello All,

I just finished the homepage for my new wedding website and would like to know what you think of the design. Disregard the video footage. I will be adding links (i.e. about us, contact us, etc.) on the blue bar at the top. I'm really trying to keep the design simple yet elegant. I was also considering adding these links and wanted to know what the bare minimum links would do the job. Here is what I was thinking the links would be:

about us
faq's
services
contact

The page does look elegant!!

I opted for a more informative site and my clients often comment that other sites they visit are purely a showcase for the videographer's work!! They especially hate the "email us for prices" scenario as that means that they have no idea whether the video will even be in their budget...it could be $1000 or it could be $10,000!!!

I get "I want to book you..." calls and emails directly from my site..that's without even meeting me and that's the way I decided to have my site so the bride could actually make a decision purely from the web info!!
I have a "meet your cameraman" page, a page of hints and pitfalls to avoid, an up to date calendar showing bookings until 2011 and of course, accurate price packages, online booking and payment options and plenty of sample online clips.

It will be great to see your site once it's complete

Here is my opinion. You can take it or leave it as I understand that many things creative are subjective.

I would remove the images in the upper right and upper left and either leave that area clean and let your logo shine or add some simple design elements. I really think you can get away with having any images on the home page. Look at it in terms of "what is your brand". If it is elegant you are looking for, I would remove the images and work on an abstract design. I think its ok to use images but not enough to over power your site. Again, this is in terms of a clean site. To me, clean means contemporary, elegant, uncluttered. If you really want an image on the homepage, I think the photo of the Bride on the right side would work, loose the other stuff and keep some of the design elements you already have.
