Videographers Needed for High School Sports

Did you read this?

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...0559/index.htm

"The whole idea is to prove a new business model for sports broadcasting. It's logical. The economics line up. It's coming.''

There's a whole lotta 'ifs' there. Bringing crappy videos to the net for pay when high school kids will do it for free sounds like an iffy idea at best.

I think you'd be better off doing a presale direct to the players' parents of a particular school with a minimum purchase order. This means you're now assuming the role of salesperson of course, but you'll eliminate the "what if" factor. That's how I've always done it.

I believe that if you can't get paid up front for something like this, then you're assuming too much risk.

"You find the teams and booster clubs that want to generate revenue from streaming. We'll set up your own crowdfunding website for the game campaign, then you'll work with the booster/school/athletic director to market it to the team's most loyal fans and sponsors. If a game, tourney, or season is successfully funded before the 30, 45, or 60 day funding deadline, you'll get the green-light from YourSports to film it."

If you only had to film and deliver the games, it might be worth a look, but they want you to go find the teams and get them to sign up.

You are then acting like a commissioned sales person without the commission.

This "class" of job opportunity always seems to have a somthing for nothing attribute to it.

If you were going to spend the time to dig up clients, keep them and make them your clients!
