Text with a Growing Vine Effect

I seen it before where a vine continues to grow and scroll on the screen at the end of the text and now I can't find the effect or plug-in. Anybody know what it's called or where to get it? I'm using Vegas.

not sure if this is of any help but...

I just mask out the full vine, set keyframes and have the mask slowly recede until the full vine is shown.

Well, that's what I used to do. Now I pull something out of my Digital Juice Motion Designer's Toolkit.

use after effects, then import the movie file to vegas. saves you time.

Look, I may get flamed for this, and maybe I deserve it, but here goes....

This is EXACTLY the sort of cheesy special effect that gives wedding videography a bad name. When did you ever see such an effect on TV, or on a film/movie?

Jim Schuchmann May 13th, 2010 12:54 PM

Thanks Liam, Chris and Sigmund for a quick response. It was the DJ tutorial that I had seen and I couldn't remember the name of it.

I would never flame someone for their opinion, just as I'm not about to when the client requests the effect.

Bad lighting, poor framing, poor coloring, bad sound, shakey footage - these are the things that give videographers a bad name.

Martin Mayer May 13th, 2010 01:24 PM

If the client specifically requested that effect Jim, then that's different, and I apologise for assuming you "chose" to offer it.

Ok, I can't resist.....

"Oh, oh me Sir" ****puts hand up****
"It was used recently on the BBC 3 doc, 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding'."

Make of that what you will...
