HD movie format for PC?

Hello.

I need to give my client a Love Story about 15min long. I'm on a mac editing HD 1080p Proress..they have a PC...what format should I choose for them? they want the HD version and will bring a Hard Drive.

read somewhere that I should use h.264...is this right? if so ..is there a bit max bit rate i should keep under?

AVI?
WM?

first time doing this...thanks for all your help....

I'm editing on PC but I also share HD vids with clients saved as MP4 file with Apple TV 720p setting. That allows me to fit 2hr video on a single DVD. Shorter pieces (like yours) I'd upload on Vimeo in HD format and let them watch it (and/or download it) online.

Thanks Lukas for your answer.

Yes, I also upload Highlights in Mp4 online and let them download it.... usually when i do that my files are mp4 = 200 mbs or so.

My question now is...since they will bring a Hard drive ..is a 200mb mp4 good enough quality or should i use some other bit rate?

since size is not a problem and my vid is 10GB proress...and i want to give best quality...is mp4 best? can I use max bit rate? is there a limit? ect????

thanks again....

I think 200mb per 15 mins is good enough. My 5min highlights take 80mb and last 5min and they look very nice on vimeo (in 720p).
