Pre-Ceremony Highlight Clip

Hello All,

I finally completed my first paying wedding gig. It was a full day and included pre-ceremony, ceeremony, post-ceremony, and reception coverage. This is the first clip I've ever posted on the forums, but don't hold back. I would like to hear the good and the bad.

The video was shot using two DVX-100a's and edited using Final Cut Pro 5 on a dual 2.7ghz G5.

On some of the computer monitors I've viewed the clip on myself, the video levels look alright, others it is really dark. I know computer monitors are generally darker than an ntsc monitor/television, but what do you guys think of the brightness?

I have more clips I can post, here is the first.

Hi there. With regard to the levels, it looks good on my Powerbook, but mac gamma levels are different from PCs, which show generally darker.

An example woule be the two consecutive shots of the groom... the first being where his jacket is slid on... the second having his flower pinned on. On one of my pc's monitors the grooms face is almost completely black. On my mac it is satisfactory... on another pc monitor it is in between, but still satisfactory.

it's not too noticeable to me. and regardless of pc or mac, the final output will be on tv, and that's where it should look the best.

Hey Matt-

Yeah, it was a bit dark on my monitor...although I have a crappy lcd screen for my internet pc...

Other than that, I liked the overall feel of the clip...do you have the processional right after this? Is that a weird transition from country to organ music? I find that sometimes I like to use the clips like you used at the end of the song (mom's, random people sitting, flowers) and use "live" audio along with them to set the mood for processional...

Either way, if the rest of your video is the same quality as the intro...your bride and groom will be very happy...and that is what it is all about...isn't it?

Processional comes right after this yes... and yes it does go right from country to live piano wedding music... but its what they wanted.

The bride and groom were extremely happy... they sent me a great email complimenting my work. They did want to know if they could get the raw video... but I don't really want to give this out so I told them no. I don't feel that it always compliments my finished product.

yeah...that is always a questionable thing...what I do is charge an arm and a leg for the raw footage on my options page and when a couple does go for it, I put some time into it, and "clean it up" a bit...

I am glad they were happy with it! By the way, I like your logo!
