window tint??
Not sure what the technical name is... Is there anyone out there who puts up tint or a screen when shooting a ceremony that is setup in front of huge windows. I'm assuming this could also work well for speeches at the head table... If anyone has any insight, i'm all ears.

They have ND gels which are used for that, personally I think for a wedding it would be more trouble than what it's worth though....

Alternatively, you could try lighting the people to match the windows. This would put a heck of a lot of light on them though and they might not like it. But to get them both visible in the same scene, you have to make them a closer match - either lower the light from the windows, or raise it on the people, or a combination. |

Given the restrictive nature of so many churches you might also find they won't allow you to put gels up on the windows. d;-)

Re: window tint??
Thanks guys for the input... exactly what I was looking for.
Travis, yeah I would never think to do this in a church... Luckily most churches that I have shot in backlighting hasn't ever been a real issue. Usually it comes into play when your shooting at a country club or somewhere like that. Steve |
