How important is a logo/intro
I'm not in the business of video but I see some folks like to have the fancy logo with moving elements (I try to have that in my non-professional stuff when I remember) and some just put a little text logo only.
How important do you think this is in video business? Or should I say wedding/event business? |
Re: How important is a logo/intro
Hi Jason
The very first clip in my DVD is an "intro"..just a sequence of video making up around 30 seconds with the usual into wording ..however I don't put a logo at the end and I know I should as that's great advertising!! Chris |
Re: How important is a logo/intro
I have seen quite a few that use text titles overlayed at the beginning, and the tittles are fashioned in the flavor of a "feature film". IMO, if they are done in this way and done very tastefully, it only enhances the anticipation of what is to follow. Anything any more than that, IMO, I feel belongs tagged on the back of the video.

Re: How important is a logo/intro
On the DVD, I try to stay away from "advertising" myself -- I only use a small, modest notice at the end. The video is all about them, and I don't feel that hyping myself is very beneficial. On the packaging, though, I use a small logo.

Re: How important is a logo/intro
I agree with Chip. When done well, it actually adds to the video, the aniticipation. But it depends on the video also. Obviously you don't do it for commercials, etc. but for more film-like presentations such as weddings I think it looks great.
