Question about LCD Viewfinder

I am looking to pick up an LCD Viewfinder for the Canon t3i but do NOT want to have one of the one's that glue something to the screen as I still want to be able to close the screen. I found this one that uses the tripod mount on the camera: USA Carry Speed 3" LCD View Finder 3:2L FOR T3i 60D LCDVF Z FINDER | eBay

However, I am wondering if you can STILL place this on a tripod or something like the Cowboy Shoulder Mount when the view finder part is attached.

Anybody have one or know? From the bottom of the thing in the photo it looks like there is a hole to allow it to sit on the tripod.
