MOV. file repair

Does anyone know of a reputable MOV file repair program? Something without malware please. I got one file that keeps giving me "error 2048" and will not open.

Re: MOV. file repair

Hi Ian

The Canon 7D forum here seems to have a lot of threads on corrupt MOV's .... there will be some suggestions there. It might also be an idea to post on the forum that suits your camera..you don't say which camera caused the issue and there could quite easily be someone who has had the same problem..A package that suits the camera may be the best..I know my panny cams come with file recovery software but thats AVCHD and thankfully I have never had to use it.

Re: MOV. file repair

Hey Ian

As already mentioned the 7D forum had a spate of corrupt MOV files on the card so probably the topic has already been extensively covered hence the lack of replies!!..Just search the 7D forum for "corrupt" and you will see all the threads and solutions.

Re: MOV. file repair

Check out my blog. I had an experience of corrupted SD cards. Able to rescue files but they aren't playable. There is a freeware out there you can try.

Re: MOV. file repair

Update the firmware on your 7D. It was a big problem until Canon released a firmware update. I haven't had a corrupt file since.
