Switching from SD to CF

I'm looking to switch from a Canon T3i to a 7D. This means switching from SD to CF. With SD, I'm used to get media that's at least class 10 for video. Can someone recommend a standard for video while searching for CF cards?

Is there any particular reason that you are considering moving to the 7D? The T3i(600D) is a better camera for shooting video.

To return to your question the Canon DSLR's aren't picky about which CF card you use just choose a reasonable quality brand name. Sandisk Extreme are good & reliable but twice as expensive as Transcend 400X. We are still using the four 16GB Transcend 133X cards that we got with our 5D2s over three years ago & they work fine in 5D3s too.

Why do you say the T3i is better? Just curious. I was thinking focus points, pentaprism, and battery life, but I wouldn't mind sticking with my T3i (with ML) if you think it wouldn't be that much of an upgrade.

T3i pros vs 7d: biggest one 3x zoom function which the 7d doesn't have at all. Articulating screen helps prevent over heating and very useful when shooting downlow or up high.. Another big one MAGIC LANTERN currently not available for the 7d..

Pros of the 7d: better and faster focus for picture.. More external control:. Better body build and it's weather sealed.. bigger but that can be a Leo and a con..

If your mostly doing video stick with the t3i...

Instead of trying to change your buying decision, Ill answer the original question.

I regularly use Sandisk and Transcend cards with zero problems. Never lost a file.

I use this line of sandisk cards: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/646870-REG/SanDisk_SDCFX_032G_A61_32GB_Extreme_CompactFlash_Memory.html
And this line of transcend cards: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/666608-REG/Transcend_TS32GCF400_400x_CompactFlash_32GB_Memory.html

Never any issues.

don't,
i had two 7Ds in the past, both of them were getting overheated very easily, if you want better picture, get 5D2 should be less expensive with 5D3 out, or get better glass;

everybody say 133X, but I prefer sandisk 45mbs cards, never had any issues, but with 133X card i was seeing that memory cashing icon very often.
