Not really liking my C100 yet

I'm having a bit of a love/hate relationship with my c100 at the moment. I hate the look of the image on the view finder but in many cases I love the output image. I'm still favouring my mk3's as my main camera and am not utilizing the c100 as much as I hoped, mainly using it as a wide back-up shot during wedding ceremonies.
I'm not sure if mine has a problem that others don't have but I'm getting fine horizontal line in the LCD image and really not liking the white balance too.
Is anyone else struggling with this camera?

I've read nothing but praises on this forum regarding the C100 (unless i've missed threads talking about the pitfalls of this camera)

My advice to you ... if your not using it ...

SELL IT !

Plenty of other cheaper 'wide angle' options out there to simply lock off on a tripod.

Re: Not really liking my C100 yet

the c100 footage is not as punchy looking as the 5dm2 footage, because it's similar cropped frame like the t3i. The subject really stands out on the 5dm2, provided lighting is good.

C100 footage is much more restrained. Less punch, less bokeh, less pop. But more sharpness, better low light performance.

Better low light performance means you can use the 24-105mm lens at all times, so you can zoom in to the subject more.

With 5dm2, anything above F2.8 is useless in anything other than ideal lighting, and so therefore you are limited in zoom lens choices.

F4.0 is considered a "low light" lens on the C100.

Hi Scott, out of curiosity, is it just the LCD that's making you favour the DSLR over the C100?

The viewfinder is not as bad as people make it out to be...unless by "viewfinder" you didn't mean the viewfinder.

The 5DM3 doesn't allow you to use the viewfinder when shooting video, so not sure how this follows.

You mean the image on the little LCD screen doesn't look overly sharp? Why would it?

and really not liking the white balance too.
White balance is set by the operator and thus I would consider this to be operator error.

I struggle to go back to poor DSLR footage after shooting amazing stuff with the C100.

I shoot with my c100 first. I would never go back to an mkiii as cam 1. Fwiw

What exactly are you disliking?
