When is the bouquet thrown?

At every Australian wedding I've been to, the bouquet always gets thrown some time towards the end of the night, usually just before B&G depart reception.

But I was watching an episode of Midsomer Murders recently that began with a wedding, and the bride threw the bouquet on the steps of the church, just after she'd exited.

Is that a UK thing? Or is it common outside Australia generally?

Never pay too much attention to TV; dramatic license covers a great many things. Bouquet toss is usually sometime after the 1st Dance, though very occasionally just before it. There are very rare Weddings where at the Photographers discretion, it's staged well before the 1st Dance.

I leave the wedding shortly after the first dance and yes, I seldom film the bouquet unless the bride decides she wants it on video, then she will do it after cake cutting . Normally as you say it's sometime between the dancing and midnight ..I'm long gone by them.

I watch watching an old episode of Doc Martin and yes, TV weddings often do an exit from the Church and a bouquet toss ... they exited the Church, climbed into a horse and carriage and she threw the bouquet ..as Steve says those are TV weddings!!

If you want the bouquet Adrian, you have to stay until the end!!

Here, in upper Midwest U.S., its 1-2 hours after the first dance. Late. But not so late that too many people have left.
