Public spaces - OK for pictures? No!

For 20 years I fought the law. Today the law won | Alan Rusbridger | Comment is free | The Guardian

A light hearted article showing that even when you know you are within your rights to take pictures, you may not be!

Just goes to show that other legal obstacles can pop up unexpectedly.

I shot some footage at 2 big railway stations which normally don't allow tripod shooters either, if security or the station chief sees you they will come up to you to ask if you have a permit. If not you are politely asked to leave. Their reasoning for not allowing to use a tripod is that it can interfere with the travelers. That was the reason why I used a mini stabilizer for my gopro and a small gorillapod for my gh4. In both cases security did see me shooting but they didn't bother me. You have to think small in order not to get noticed.
