1080 60p to 720 60p?

I'm going to film a wedding this Saturday and I plan to shoot in 1080 60p, largely because of the higher bit rate offered on my camera in that format.

At first I just assumed it would be best to render final video to 60i, but then this morning I remembered Buray supports 720 60p.

It is a cinch to crop the video and downsize it, and the propect of smooth motion is tempting after shooting in 60i for awhile now.

I have delivered in 720 60p, but it's been years and I don't have any samples.

Anyone played with both of these or done comparisons?

I wonder if shooting in progressive and using a significantly higher bit rate (50 vs. 24) will offset the loss in resolution.

Anyone have any thoughts?
