small but sturdy tripod recommendations
 

I am trying to find a solid little tripod that I can place my camera and wide angles lens on. It would be placed at the front of the church near the aisle (safety shot) It would only be there for the precessional. Any suggestions?

I also would like to adapt a manfrotto quick release 577 system on the small tripod as well, so I can take the camera right off and place it on my other tripod for the ceremony.

I bought a MeFoto globetrotter and found it great for portability and really solid. I liked it so much I just bought a mefoto roadtrip, which is smaller and holds up to 17 pounds (the globetrotter holds 26 pounds, I think). I will use it for interviews for a static wide/medium angle. I use a jib and slider with the globetrotter, and both work well.

I have an old Bogen 3211. It's great! It's small, but it can go up to eye-level. It's sturdy, nothing is plastic except for the lock knob handles. The top is a 3/8" stud, so you can put any number of flat-base heads on it. I have a 3126 on it now, but sometimes I put my 492 ball head on it.

The 3221 is the same, except the legs can unlock and spread out farther for super low angle shots, or for added support of top heavy loads. You can find them for under $150 on eBay, usually with a head of some sort included.
