Yamaha audio file corrupted
 

After a recent ceremony, I go to get my Yamaha CX recorder from the groom, slide off the hold switch on the back and hit the Stop button, but the unit would not stop recording. Tried moving the hold switch back and forth, hit the stop button multiple times, but nothing would work. Tried powering off the unit, but it refused to turn off. I decided to let it keep recording until the battery was depleted. When I checked the file on my computer, it listed the length of the audio file as about 35 minutes, but Zero bytes, so I'm guessing it got corrupted.

Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know of a way to recover a corrupted audio file from a digital audio recorder?

Luckily it was just a backup to my wireless mics, but I'm also wondering if it is time to replace this recorder? Ideally I'd like to get another CX, but it seems Yamaha stopped making them and replaced the line with the bulkier PR7.
