I swear, for 10 years ago I passed over a dvd and it was? A. OK. Great not much hassle. Few changes colour bits bobs.

Now the past 6 months seems eerie the clients pick up on everything.
Are we victims of our own success in this modern era.
The last dvd I handed over was excellent. They told me so!!
Then 8 weeks down the line. Can you just change the speeches as you shown the bridesmaid crying and she does not like that??? Can you change the dad's look as he does not like himself???
My bloody UK service agreement is getting like a U.S.A ONE HA

I got a nice one as well; 'can you pls replace some people you shot during the ceremony who look like they are bored with some others that are smiling?'

I have to say that I had some picky clients many years back so not that much has changed, I still get the occasional odd request.

I don't think I ever get requests like this. Even if I did, my contract states I have the creative editorial decision and that re-edits for personal preference reasons will be charged.

I very much hope you guys don't make these silly adjustments for free!

We've had this conversation in a previous thread. There was a differs e of opinion there I recall. I tend to perform minor edits without charge. It's just something that's part of my service just as some visit each and every client before the day, which unless asked I don't. That said, I will charge if it's a major request.

I do agree that clients expectations are increasing. I'm having conversations about style of filming and finished video that I never use to have. Plus the demands of each Wedding are getting higher. Some have really stretched me this year.

I'm a corporate guy, not a wedding guy, but had a PR flack last week say to me (almost verbatim) ... the soundbites you used from the volunteers were a little stiff. Do you have some that are more natural?

Yes... yes I do. I always use the bad interview sound first, to see if the client will catch it. Good job. I'll drop the natural ones in for revision 2, and get it back to you in a few days.

Yes Clive its all in the service agreement but what do you do? Sometimes you have to compromise and in this particular case they are in a great location to continue good work with better clients. Do i just ignore them and say nope? I just think there is so much going on these days people just moan about everything, social media is fast becoming its own enemy as far as i am concerned and i think that has a lot to do with nit picking and moaning.

if they want stupid changes I quote them a price. unfortunately I'm a softie and if I like them I usually do it anyway but if they're a pain I stick to my guns.

I do seem to be getting more of them.

Remember there are 3 types of editing rates.

If you want me to edit the segment - $75.00 an hour

If you want to watch me edit the segment - $300.00 an hour

If you want to show me how to edit the segment - $600.00 an hour

BTW: Absolutely love the FZ1000's ..they knock the stuffing out of my old Sony's at a quarter of the price .. 4K is awesome even 1080 is way better!!

Yeah, I love it when corporate guys make you use an employee to
VO, (to save money) then they complain that the VO isn't as good
as some on your Demo videos. Yeah, I hire a professional when possible,
but you made me use a employee.
