CD/DVD printing.
Hey guys,
I used to be a very active user of this forum, and decided to return after some years for some useful advice. I was using the Epson Artisan 730 with a CIS for all of my DVD printing needs. A few months ago, the cartridge exploded within the printer and left it as an unusable mess. I'm currently looking for a replacement and was hoping you guys could give me some suggestions. A few internet searches pointed me in the direction of the Canon PIXMA MG7120. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Steve |
Re: CD/DVD printing.
It looks like the old USA ban on other brand printer manufacturers having CD/DVD printing capability is over.
Personally, I'm still using an Epson Artisan 835 series. I think they have done away with this AIO series in favor of something new. I've just never been a fan of Canon printers and hope to stay with Epson when mine finally dies. Almost 4 years old though and still going strong. lol |

I use this printer Canon PIXMA MX922 http://amzn.to/1NXU1Wh. It's big, but no complaints from me. Prints great. Got to make sure you have the right paper, but I am sure you already know that. lol.

Re: CD/DVD printing.
I've not been a fan of Epsons I tried, used to have an HP, but they've eliminated direct CD/DVD printing in anything new, my old HP died...
Currently running a Canon MG6320 (one model above and one year older than the one you mentioned if I read the model # correctly?). Print quality to printable DVD's is excellent, I had to tweak the settings a bit to get proper centering, but other than that, it's been a solid printer for my uses, and it has the extra photo inks, 6 instead of 5 tanks to deal with and replace... I "think" it makes pictures looked better, I spent a little more for the option, though samples from the more basic one looked pretty good to my eye. Not bad for the relatively low price I paid - and I've found genuine inks cheap on ebay so it's not too bad to maintain, does seem "thirsty" to me, but "consumables" are where you spend all the big bucks for printing! |

My Artisan 750 went belly up too. Now I am using XP-620 with CISS. Mainly for DVD insert and label printing. Check it out in my blog.
