Once it's balanced for your camera, as Charles says, they are so much fun to use!!

It will be a constant source of frustration when you start using them, like Charles pointed out, the balancing part is nothing compared to actually using it. I got myself a blackbird steadicam and after a few years can say that I get decent results with it but it takes perseverance to get there.
