Wide Angle Lens for Sony HDR-FX1E?

Please can someone tell me a cheap way of having a wide-angle lens for my Sony HDR-FX1E

if i do searches on google, i end up getting confused about 72mm adapter rings, and expensive lenses...! do i really need an adapter ring?

anyway, i thought this would be the best place to ask...
thanks

I don't think that I would like to advise on any cheap way when talking about lenses.
You've very wisely invested in a great little HDV camera capable of stunning images, so why consider downgrading them.
I know that the Sony lens is about £650 +, but it does work very well and complements the camera - and allows a full zoom through without any vignetting or focus loss.

Here's the link to the Sony 0.8x wide angle lens for $395US (about £230 according to an online converter) on B&H. Looks like a pretty good deal.

Many thanks for the advice and links... it will definitely be a wise investment, and I may as well stick to the Sony brand in this case...cheers
