Song Credits

I've been asked a time or two about what songs I used for weddings. The ones in question have always been instrumentals. I use a lot of southern gospel music when they get married at huge Victorian houses here in Georgia, and it tends to grab their heart strings. I could easily put all of the songs at the end in a credit roll, but has anyone ever put tiny "MTV-style" songs names on their videos? On one hand it seems tacky, but on the other hand the music is used to strike their emotions and they tend to want to know what song it is right then and there. Ideas?

I'd say save it for the credits. To me, if you did it MTV style, then that particular part of the video would seem to be more about the song than the actual wedding.

Hey Michael,
I agree with Brian. Also remember to get to know your customer. What type of music they like and their personalities. You can always make a MTV style highlight video but you have to film MTV style with you raw (extra) footage. If it's not part of their personailty don't do it. I work primarily with teenage girls for their 15th birthday parties and it's very fun, they have incredible personalities at this age. The thing though is they're teenagers and they love that style. Alot not all Adults want traditional styles, so get to know your customer. If they want it, give it to them, if they want traditional give them that, but again find out what music they like and go with that. Good luck.
