Can Iriver T30 be used for recordings?

Anyone knows if the above model has a mic in selection? The specs do not show for the other model that does too. Reason is I can only get this in my country.. Thanks.

No. Not the way the discontinued 700, 800 series can. I don't think there's a separate mic setting with a preamp in these things any more.

So I'm told...

Sean,
You might be able to pick up a 700 or 800 model on e-Bay. I did and works great (with a Giant Squid mic)

Yeah, MR Giant Squid had advised me to get the 700 or 800 series but I cant get em here in Singapore! I'll try Korea but I heard its better priced in the US. I will probably get it from ebay then. Thanks for the great response!

Try Crown Photo on ebay. Just got a 3rd iRiver from them. Works fine. Refurbished model 895 512mb for $65 includes shipping.

Overstock.com sells refurbs also. I ordered from them with no problems.
