Wedding Demo

I have a couple of handfulls of weddings under my belt as of now, and I was thinking about compiling a wedding demo video to give out. My fiance attended a bridal show, and I asked her to pick up some wedding demo's there for reference. They were downright awful, especially for what they charged. A demo should hype people up to buy your product, not bore people to death with dumb shots that don't explain anything.

So, what tips do you have for making a demo? How long should it be? What should it cover? Blah blah blah... Any and all help is, well ... helpful. Sorry I couldn't think of a better finish to that sentence.

One option for you is to make shorts of the weddings you have produced. Typically people really care about what they see. There is a large discussion on this board about wedding demos, so I would reference that.

But in reality, demos are not only a tool for showing your work, but educating your client on angles, lighting, color choice etc.

Pretty much, the cleaner your demo and the better story it tells about you is what you go for. The worst thing you can do is missrepresent your style, ability etc. Your client will be very unhappy about it. When I hand a prospective client a wedding we have produced, Drop to Design is all over it, from cover to cover. (and I don't mean our name)

This is the reason I don't produce demos, instead I show the actual wedding. There are demos on my websites, but they are more artistic pieces than anything. I think of the guy at the bridal shows I've been to for the past year or so. He shows the exact same demo which is pretty much just one scene from a wedding. Our product is always improving, and I can show my client the first wedding and the last wedding we have done.
