green or blue screen for vegas?
Curious which is a better option to chromakey in vegas? I was thinking the green may be better, but I would love to hear what success or problems people have had in the past, also if there are any great chroma keyers available at a reasonable price I would be interested in hearing that as well.
Thanks. |
I vote green!

Unless you have a light green item in the foreground, go with green. It has a higher luminance level, so it's less noisy than blue.
We picked up a number of paint chips from Home Depot and filmed them under our screen lights. We then captured and put them on a waveform monitor. "Lime Green" was the brightest, most pure green for us. Sorry, I can't recall the brand, off hand... |
Definitively green! Jon pointed out correclty the reason, the green luminance level is almost 4 times higher than blue. Go blue only if your object contains green colors that cannot be removed :)
