Help...lost project!

Hi,
I have been working all day on a project saving as I went along. The pc crashed and when I restarted I got the 000000b.veg filename. I saved as that a number of times but the pc crashed again and now the filename has disappeared. Can't find it anywhere on any of the hard drives. Is there are way to bring it back?

Desperate for some help. Thanks.

id love to know why it does that it has hit us as well. All I know is when you get that saved error code immediately resave as different name. How many USB's do you have plugged in. In my opinion, Vegas doesnt like a full set of USB's plugged in. I have had a number of "stalls" and when I unplugged the scoring drive arrays (USB 2.0) it popped back on...

I also got in the habbit (because of this) of saving the veg file in four locations so if one crashes or dissappears there are three others to revert to.

Good luck

Why it does that? I don't have a definitive enough answer to make a difference to your knowledge base. However, DO track down your Vegas Temp directory, or folder, and "view" what is in there.

When I get this happen I just know that my Temp is chock full of temp UNDO/REDO Vegas system files. In the past I have some ranging back years!!

Anyways, I have now made my a Vegas Temp directory : C:\Vegas7Temp - I can now access this very fast and rummage about. As I keep V5 > V7 working, I have a V5 > V7 Temp directories live too.

You should try, as an experiment, keeping a Veg Temp directory visible/open while working within Vegas. You will then see just the amount of activity going on in there. Now THAT'S an eye opener.

OK, as you have had several crashes, blips and farts . . I bet you do have some unwanted Temps hanging about. Maybe getting rid will drop the amount of TMP researching going on - yeah?

HTH
